Japan Advances to World Group Using DecoTurf’s Custom-Tailored Speed of Play
DecoTurf, the most recognized tennis surface in the world, announced that their 100% acrylic tennis surface system, DecoTurf was the surface of the Fed Cup World Group Play-Off held at the Ariake Coliseum in Tokyo, Japan April 21st -22nd.
No. 1 player for Japan, Morita took a 7-5, 6-2 victory over Belgium’s Hendler on Sunday placing Japan into the Fed Cup World Group for the first time since 2007.
Morita and her Japanese teammates, known for speed and aggressive plays, used DecoTurf’s speed of play to their advantage in their defeat over Belgium.
"She {Morita} is a very aggressive player," Hendler noted. "This is a fast court, which I am not used to. They put so much pressure on you that it is hard to even call it an 'unforced error. '

DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships
DecoTurf is honored to be the Title Sponsor of the National High School Tennis Team Championships as 40 of the nation's most talented high school tennis teams compete in Louisville, Kentucky.
The 2012 DecoTurf High School Tennis Team Championships represent teams from Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Tennessee.
The Baylor School girls' tennis team of Chattanooga Tennessee received their back- to-back DecoTurf National Championship title this past weekend in Louisville. Girls Preparatory School, also of Chattanooga, was the runner-up for the second year running. Samantha Caswell from Bayor was named most valuable player and the USTA Kentucky Sportsmanship Award was given to Norte Dame Academy.
The Barron Collier boys’ tennis team, back-to-back Florida state champions, hopes to take their success to the national level this week. Last year, Barron finished 11th at the DecoTurf tournament.
“Of the four teams we played last year, we would beat all four with the team we have going,” Coach Eric Manring said. “It’s a great opportunity, and you never know what’s going to happen.”
Each match in the tournament will include three doubles and six singles points.

Murray Reaches Quarterfinals on DecoTurf® at Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship
Marco Chiudinelli and Andy Murray went head-to-head on DecoTurf Wednesday during the 3rd round matchup at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship. Defeating Chiudinelli 6-3, 6-4 made Murray the first player to qualify for the tournament’s quarterfinals.
Number four seed Murray played with confidence and notable improvement, using DecoTurf’s consistent speed of play to his advantage.
“I think it's the quickest court I probably play on in the year. The ball moves through the air really
quickly… So it's almost easier to control.”
