4.0   Surface Preparation
4.1  Surface Conditions
The surface upon which Crack Filler is to be applied must be smooth, free of dirt, loose or flaking paint, oily material or chemical residues, vegetation of any sort and any other debris or foreign matter that may prevent the proper product adhesion.

4.2  Surface Imperfections
Thoroughly rout existing cracks of dirt, debris and loose impediments.  Cracks should be blown clean with an air compressor.

5.0 MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Crack Filler comes ready-to-use.  Only gentle stirring is necessary.  DO NOT DILUTE.

6.0   GUIDE TO APPLICATION
6.1   Installation
Cracks shall be hand filled with a square, snub-nosed hand trowel or broad knife with a narrow bead of material along the crack.  After the crack filler has been forced into the crack, the edges shall be wiped clean with a damp cloth (This prevents edge build-up which would require sanding as a corrective measure).

6.2  Drying and Cure Times
After drying, any edges will be sanded smooth and loose material shall be carefully removed from the court by air-broom and/or sweeping.

7.0  CLEAN UP
All equipment can be cleaned with water if clean up occurs immediately after application.

8.0  LIMITATIONS
8.1  Surface Limitations
Crack Filler is limited to application on hot-mix asphalt and Portland cement concrete surfaces. California Products Corporation does not recommend, nor authorize the application of Crack Filler on any other surfaces without prior approval from your Area Manager.

8.2  Weather Limitations
No part of the construction should be conducted during rainfall, or when rainfall is imminent. The air temperature must be at least 60ºF and rising.  Do not apply when surface temperature is above 140ºF. Do not store in hot sun.

8.3  Product Limitations
Crack Filler is intended for temporarily filling cracks. Do not apply in major structural cracks (greater than 1/2”). Cracks will reappear as crack filler is not a permanent crack repair.

8.4  Do Not Dilute

8.5  Indoor Application Curing
Drying times are retarded by high humidity, cool temperatures or lack of air movement.  This is particularly important to note when installing indoors, where all three factors are often very pronounced.

8.6  Keep From Freezing
Crack Filler is a water-based acrylic and it must be kept from freezing during storage or in transit.  If you receive product you suspect may have been exposed to freezing temperatures, consult your Area Manager for proper handling instructions.

9.0  LIMITED WARRANTY
The Company warrants that the products to be delivered and sold there under are the kind and quality described in its specifications and no other warranty, except of title, is expressed or implied.  All other warranties and/or liabilities, including consequential damages, are specifically excluded whether the directions for a product’s use are followed or not.  Notification of any apparent defect or defects shall be made promptly in writing to the Company.  Should any product (unless sold as is) prove, upon our inspection, to be defective in workmanship or materials in accordance with the specifications, the Company will replace the product or refund the purchase price.  No person has the authority of the Company to make or accept any other warranty, liability, or conditions on the Company’s behalf.  If the above stated conditions of this warranty are unacceptable, the purchaser may return, at his expense, all unopened packages, bags or containers for credit within 30 days from the date of purchase.
