CLEAR ACRYLIC SEALER FOR HIGH-WEAR SURFACES

1.0   MATERIAL DESCRIPTION
ClearGlo 920-28 is a clear, highly durable, 100% acrylic sealer especially designed for use over acrylic recreational coatings.

To seal and protect play areas subjected to highly abrasive wear, such as basketball and volleyball courts.  Best results are achieved when applied over newly coated acrylic surfaces.

3.0   PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

Color:

Milky White

Coverage Rate (undiluted):

.015-.025 gallons/sq. yd.

Weight per gallon:

8.6 lbs.

Curing conditions:

70°F & 50% relative humidity

Estimated cure time:

24 hours

Minimum ambient, surface & product installation temperature:

60°F and rising

Note: Low temperatures or high humidity will increase drying time drastically.  Maximum surface temperature = 140° F.

4.0   Surface Preparation
The surface upon which ClearGlo is to be applied must be smooth, free of dirt, loose or flaking paint, oily materials or chemical residues, vegetation of any sort and any other debris or foreign matter that may prevent the proper product adhesion.

5.0  MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
The following mixes have been found to be satisfactory for average surface conditions:

ClearGlo 920-28

5 gallons

Clean Potable Water

5 gallons

After the addition of  water to ClearGlo, thorough mixing is required.  A mechanical drill mixer is recommended and mixture should be stirred until homogeneous.  Periodic mixing should take place as job progresses to ensure consistent application.

 6.0  GUIDE TO APPLICATION
6.1  System Recommendation
One or two coats have proven to give excellent performance results.

6.2  Installation
ClearGlo is applied after all acrylic color coats, including striping paint.  Allow prior applications to dry a minimum of 12 hours.  Apply product with 1/2” nap roller or flexible rubber squeegee.  Follow squeegee with a fine bristle broom.  Be very careful not to allow the product to pool.  If product is allowed to pool, shiny, slick areas will develop.

6.3  Drying and Cure Time
ClearGlo must be allowed to dry for 4 hours between coating applications.  Completed projects should be allowed 24 hours before releasing to play.

7.0   COVERAGE
The undiluted coverage rate is approximately 0.015 – 0.025 gallons per square yard, per application (200-300 square feet per gallon when applied with a roller).

8.0   CLEAN-UP
All equipment can be cleaned with water if clean-up occurs immediately after application.

9.0   LIMITATIONS
9.1  Surface Limitations
ClearGlo is limited to application on hot-mix asphalt and Portland cement concrete recreational surfaces. Deco Surfacing Systems does not recommend, nor authorize the application of ClearGlo on any other surfaces without prior approval from your Deco Area Manager.

9.2  Weather Limitations
No part of the construction involving the Deco Surfacing System should be conducted during rainfall, or when rainfall is imminent.  The air temperature must be at least 60ºF and rising.  Do not apply when surface temperature is above 140ºF.

9.3  Dilution
Dilution of the product is critical.  If applied too heavily, the coating will remain milky white.

9.4  Indoor Application Curing
Drying times are retarded by high humidity, cool temperatures or lack of air movement.  This is particularly
important to note when installing indoors, where all three factors are often very pronounced.

9.5  Loss of Traction
ClearGlo, like any sealer, will tend to fill and level the surface to some degree.  This may result in slightly less traction when the coating is wet.

9.6  Keep From Freezing
ClearGlo is a water-based acrylic system and it must be kept from freezing during storage or in transit.  If you receive product you suspect may have been exposed to freezing temperatures, consult your Deco Area Manager for proper handling instructions.

10.0  LIMITED WARRANTY
The Company warrants that the products to be delivered and sold there under are the kind and quality described in its specifications and no other warranty, except of title, is expressed or implied.  All other warranties and/or liabilities, including consequential damages, are specifically excluded whether the directions for a product’s use are followed or not.  Notification of any apparent defect or defects shall be made promptly in writing to the Company.  Should any product (unless sold as is) prove, upon our inspection, to be defective in workmanship or materials in accordance with the specifications, the Company will replace the product or refund the purchase price.  No person has the authority of the Company to make or accept any other warranty, liability, or conditions on the Company’s behalf.  If the above stated conditions of this warranty are unacceptable, the purchaser may return, at his expense, all unopened packages, bags or containers for credit within 30 days from the date of purchase.
