The Japan Tennis Association has chosen DecoTurf when Japan plays host to India in the Davis Cup World Group semifinals.
September 16, 2011-Andover, MA – The Japan Tennis Association has chosen DecoTurf when Japan plays host to India in the Davis Cup World Group semifinals. The Tie will take place September 16-18, 2011, at the Ariake Coliseum, Tokyo, Japan.
The Davis Cup, run by the International Tennis Federation, is the premier international team event in men’s tennis. The tournament was conceived in 1899 by four members of the Harvard University tennis team who wished to challenge the British to a tennis competition. The first match, between the United States and Great Britain was held at the Longwood Cricket Club in Boston, Massachusetts in 1900. Japan is the latest among several national tennis teams, including China, Greece, Canada, and the United States, who have recently chosen DecoTurf for their Davis Cup venues.
